National Policy Group
ADGP has established a national policy group, with staff and GPs from SBOs and interested divisions. It is envisaged that this group will act primarily as a reference point and means of communication with the wider network, initially on the national primary health care policy development.
Smaller working parties will be formed to undertake development of draft position statements in a number of key areas, and these will be circulated to the wider network for comment.
The intent is to consolidate the contents of these documents into a national position on primary health care focussing on the role of divisions and general practice. The agreed document will be launched at the Divisions of General Practice Network Forum in November 2005 and used as the basis for further consultation with government and other stakeholders.
