AGPN Board Elections 2007
Background
In 2005, the AGPN newly elected Directors were elected with the knowledge of whether they would serve a one year or two year term. Those with a one year term retired at the 2006 AGM. From the 2006 AGM, the rotation system was fully implemented with all subsequent terms for Directors being two years.
In line with the AGPN constitution, five directors are now due to retire at the 2007 AGM.
AGPN has commenced an election process for the election of the four GP Directors to serve from the 2007 AGM until the conclusion of the 2009 AGPN AGM. This is occurring via SBOs in the nominated state(s).
The following Directors terms are up for election:
- Queensland GP Director to the Board of AGPN
- South Australia GP Director to the Board of AGPN
- Victoria GP Director to the Board of AGPN
- Western Australia GP Director to the Board of AGPN.
The AGPN Board is also implementing a process for the appointment of the non-GP Director as per the company’s constitution. The non-GP Director position is also due to retire at the 2007 AGPN AGM.
Please note that candidates must be GPs and must be a member of their local Division and that nomination forms must be signed by the local Division. Divisions are able to nominate more than one candidate for election. Although SBOs are members of AGPN, they do not have voting rights for the election of AGPN Directors, but will coordinate the call for nominates intheir designated state/ territory.
