AGPN Representation Register - Expressions of Interest

AGPN has established a Representation Register and invites GPs and Division Staff to fill in the attached form.

The Register serves as a database of qualified people with specific expertise and qualifications for AGPN to draw upon when requests arise for representation roles from Government Health Departments/Agencies and other peak bodies.

AGPN’s Representation Program is a key strategic function for AGPN. The Program enables grass roots input by GPs, general practice and the Divisions network into national primary health care policy and program activities through participation on various national committees and attendance at forums/workshops. Your participation raises the profile of the Divisions network as a key influence in primary health care delivery and provides direct access by the Divisions network into national primary health care policy formulation.

An AGPN representative should:

  • actively represent AGPN, SBOs and Divisions of General Practice at the national level;
  • inform themselves of AGPN policy relating to the subject matter of their representation;
  • regularly report to the AGPN Board on the issues and outcomes of meetings attended and positions taken as an AGPN Representative; and
  • seek advice from the AGPN Board on major issues under discussion by the representative’s committee before endorsing an AGPN position in that forum.
