Annual General MeetingAlan Wylie has worked within the University sectors for the past 15 years. In that time he has held positions as an Instructional Designer, Head of the Materials Development and Operational Head of the Distance Education Centre at the University of New England, lecturer in Educational Designer at The University of Queensland, private Education Consultant for the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), and most recently as a Learning Designer and the Service Manager for Media Development at the Queensland University of Technology.
His interests include the evolution process of instructional design to learning design, flexible and online learning, learning environments, Activity Design theory and the management of teaching and learning.

Why undertake community engagement ?
David Brand is a Past President of the Australian Medical Association and has been a general practitioner for over 25 years. His service to the AMA at the local, state and federal arenas spans a decade - one that has seen significant change and reform in general practice.

In addition to his term as Federal President (1998-2000), David had terms as Federal Chairman of the AMA Council of General Practice (1993-96) and as Federal Chairman of the AMA Health Economics and Finance Committee (1996-98). He was President of the Brisbane North Division of General Practice from 1995-97.
Division Specific Engagement
During his term on the AMA Council of General Practice, David was especially active in the conceptualisation, formation and development of the Division movement in Australia. He facilitated the working party that developed the Division concept, and served on the Divisions Steering Group which then initiated and developed the concept into an Australia-wide phenomenon.

In early 2002, David joined the Board of General Practice Education Australia, a not-for-profit organisation which trains a large proportion of Australia's GP Registrars, and also provides education, training and consultancy services in support of general practice across the country.Definitions
David has excellent networks with senior health officials and politicians from all political parties. While he has very strong links with GPs in all states and territories, he also has an extensive network of contacts with specialists, academics, public health advocates, private hospitals, private insurers, and consumers.

Kathryn will be assisting the planning and implementation of the Leadership and Management Program. Kathryn previously held the position of regional manager of a group training company which marketed and managed apprenticeships and traineeships. Kathryn liaised with a range of stakeholders for business development, research, referral and advocacy. Kathryn has also managed a number of Commonwealth and State funded programs dealing with youth at risk and worked on several community development programs. She sits on the Board of Working Options Inc, a not-for-profit organisation which supports community based projects.

Andrew is a communications and media consultant based in Sydney. He has had more than 25 years in broadcasting as an announcer & journalist on radio and television with the ABC, including leadership of the ABC’s 58 local radio stations around Australia. The highlight of this role was interacting with regional and rural audiences nationally and the creation of the Rural Woman of the Year Award. He was also General Manager of the ABC’s International Development area with training consultancies in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia & South Africa.
He is regarded as having special expertise in staff motivation and facilitating corporate change. At the beginning of 1998 Andrew commenced his consultancy AB Communicates offering broad assistance in ‘communications’ in working with individuals and organisations. Skills in public speaking, presentation and utilisation of the media are highlighted, including management mentoring/coaching/counsel.
A recent major project has been leading as CEO and a Director of Group Training Australia, a national peak body representing the interests of 120 Group Training Companies providing employment and training to 40,000 apprentices & trainees in 200 locations around Australia.
