Election Process for AGPN Board
Background:
In accordance with AGPN’s Constitution, the election of the AGPN Board of GP Directors will be coordinated by AGPN.
As per the appointment periods, the following director elections will take place:

Queensland GP Director
-
Western Australia GP Director
-
South Australia GP Director
-
Victoria GP Director
-
Non-GP director (appointment by Board).
The ACT, NSW, NT and Tasmanian Director positions were elected for a period of 2 years, and will thus come up for election prior to the 2008 AGM.
The proposed election process and associated timelines are as follows.
Process:
Call for Nominations – Monday 2nd July to Friday 27th July 2007 (4 weeks)
SBOs to conduct the ‘Call for Nominations’ process:

SBOs will circulate nomination forms and associated documentation (Director Position Description/Guidelines) to Divisions in their State/Territory;

Individual Divisions will forward completed nomination forms with accompanying candidate CVs to their SBOs – Divisions may nominate more than one nominee;

SBOs will compile completed nomination forms and forward consolidated returns to AGPN.
Postal ballots – Monday 30th July to Friday 24th August 2007 (4 weeks)
AGPN to conduct the postal ballot process:

AGPN to post candidates CVs on its website;

AGPN to send postal ballot forms to Divisions with relevant State/Territory candidate information and a stipulated ‘reply by’ date;

Completed ballot forms are to be returned to AGPN within a sealed envelope.
Directors elected unopposed will be immediately identified on the AGPN website.
Counting of the votes – by Friday, 31st August 2007
