MENTAL HEALTH CPD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE  2005 to 2007 EDUCATION TRIENNIUM - Fact Sheets
(updated March 05)

SELF-DIRECTED FAMILIARISATION TRAINING PACKAGE

These resources are now available online to GPs. They supersede the E-Learning CD and Worksheet.  Please note that use of the E-Learning CD and Worksheet should be discontinued.

For GPs interested in completing the Self-Directed Familiarisation Training  package, Divisions can either:

  • refer the GP to Resources for GPs  (www.adgp.com.au), or
  • assist the GP by downloading and providing a hard copy version of the resources, or
  • provide the training resources on a floppy disc for GPs without internet access.

REQUIRED STEPS BY GPs FOR PROCESSING SELF-DIRECTED TRAINING

On completion of the Self-Directed Familiarisation Training the GP must send their completed evaluation form (page 6 of the Self-Directed Work Book) to their local Division of General Practice to obtain professional development points and a certificate of completion.
The work book and quiz have been provided as educational tools only to assist in the GPs personal learning. They do not need to be submitted to meet course requirement.

COMPLETE GUIDE FOR FACILITATORS FOR FACE TO FACE TRAINING

The new format is an MS Excel document designed to enable attendance list records to be directly imported to GP records on the RACGP database, the objective being a more expedient service.  The final step in completing a streamlined procedure is to fully computerise the attendance list / data entry process.  Attendance list data not sent to the RACGP, QA&CPD Program in the new format after the 1st of January 2004, may be returned with a request to resubmit.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process or you are unable to comply with this request, please do not hesitate to contact your State QA&CPD Unit to discuss.

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO DELIVER FAMILIARISATION TRAINING
