| The SOLID Mentoring Project is a joint Australian Indigenous Doctor's Association (AIDA) and Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) project. SOLID stands for Strengthening Our Leadership through Indigenous Doctors. The aim of the Project is to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical graduates and strengthen their career opportunities.
The Project invites interested Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students and graduates to register their interest in being linked with a mentor. Likewise, medical practitioners are invited to register their interest in being linked with a mentee. All participants are then invited to attend a Project. Mentors will be provided readings on culturally safe mentoring prior to attending the workshop.
AIDA provides ongoing support to GPs who have formed mentoring relationships and collects feedback from participants to improve and report on the Project.
