Population Health pre-forum discussion workshop

The eighth Australian Divisions of General Practice was held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25-28 November bringing together dynamic, general practitioners who are Division leaders with a passion for primary health care, senior managers from across the Divisions’ Network who make the purchasing decisions, together with government officials, academics, allied health providers, nurses and other key players of the primary health care team in a collaborative, learning environment.

A pre-forum 'population health discussion workshop' was held on Saturday the 25th of November.  For further information or to view presentations from the day go to the population health page of the AGPN Forum web site.

Low yield cigarettes 'not a healthier option' $9 million campaign - 19th December 2005
A $9 million consumer awareness campaign advising smokers that 'light' and 'mild' cigarettes are not a healthier option will be launched nationally on 26 December 2005. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said the campaign, funded by tobacco companies, will inform consumers of health concerns related to use of 'light' and 'mild' and similarly described cigarettes.
