Use of Savings

ERM savings available to individual divisions will be used in developing new health care programmes relevant to their local community.  Programs that are developed by Divisions will be implemented in accordance with a set of agreed principles that will be detailed in the Agreement with DoHA.  These principles will ensure that programs are developed so that they are ethical, build healthcare capacity in local communities.

Ethics

Ethical behaviour by doctors is core to this program. No doctor will ever be placed in an ethical dilemma by the ERM program. Specifically, no doctor can achieve direct personal gain from the ERM program at the expense of the care being provided for the patients served.Because of our intent to behave in a manner consistent with the highest standards, ERM recently commissioned a report from an Australian ethicist on our proposed programme of effective resource management. We believe that ERM has developed an approach that is consistent with that report (see link to downloadable document below) and is characterized by high standards and absolute ethical principles. A previous ethics report on a similar approach has also been reviewed.  The principles of both reports have been applied to this approach.
