Implementation of the Government's Response to the Review of Divisions
The Government's response to the report on the Review of Divisions of General Practice included a reform agenda for the Divisions of General Practice Program supported by the "Review Implementation Committee" (RIC). This Committee�s task was to provide advice on the reform implementation to government.
To implement these reforms, the RIC agreed that the ADGP-SBO Coalition would form the basis of an implementation advisory group for further implementation and issues management related to the RIC process. To date, the ADGP-SBO Coalition has provided advice on progress, hot issues for the future and other related RIC reform policy advice. In addition, funding was made available to ADGP and SBOs via ADGP to work collaboratively with State and Territory Offices of the Department to support RIC implementation. This funding was managed through a funding agreement between ADGP and the Department.
The outcomes of this support can be found below, in the form of State/ Territory level reports.
Analysis of key activities completed on a state level include:
- Training and support to Divisions in utilizing the Templates, including Financial templates;
- Key stakeholder engagement and briefings;
- Communications with member Divisions; and
- Accreditation support.
ADGP's role was one of contract management, coordination, but most importantly, leadership in the Network.
A number of challenges lie ahead as the Network moves towards the first reporting period under the new, more accountable Divisions Network. ADGP and SBOs believe this to be the next new challenge, amongst others, for the Network.
