Accreditation for the Divisions of General Practice Network
National Quality and Performance System
The Department of Health and Ageing is developing a National Quality and Performance System (NQPS) to address the recommendations of the Report of the review of the role of Divisions of General Practice (2003) and the Government's subsequent report. A key component of the NQPS is quality standards and accreditation of Divisions, state based organisations (SBOs) and the Australian Divisions of General Practice (ADGP).
Information about accreditation arrangements for the Divisions network, including an information sheet, is available on the Review Implementation Committee Information page on the Department's website at

Accreditation
Registration Details
The Divisions network has choice in the set of standards used for their accreditation. Additionally, Divisions which are already accredited or undergoing accreditation will not be disadvantaged. The following accreditation models have been recognised by the Department for the Divisions network:
Recognition of a list of standards sets for the Divisions network balances the need to allow choice for Divisions network members in their accreditation, while ensuring that accreditation programs used by Division network members have appropriate coverage, standards and processes. Additional models and sets of standards may be added to the list, where the appropriateness of these is demonstrated.
ADGP has completed a comparison of all 3 standards accredited for use by the Divisions of General Practice Network. Click on following link to download said standards:
