Name The ACT Division of General Practice
Bettering the Evaluation and Care of Health (BEACH)
program, a continuous national study of general practice activity, has released baseline information for Divisions and GPs dealing with quality use of medicines.
Summary reports of BEACH encounter data relating to pharmacological management of peptic ulcers, the prescribing of lipid lowering medications and the prescribing of antibiotics for April 2001 to March 2002 are now available.
The following summary reports have been made avaliable in response to activity under the Enhanced Divisional Quality Use of Medicines (EDQUM) program.

The BEACH reports are encounter based so they provide data on workload and activity rather than on patients or populations. The production of these reports has been sponsored by the Department of Health and Ageing.
The following Abstracts report smaller BEACH sub-studies, investigating prevalence and current management of selected problems in general practice patients and relate to the above EDQUM topics.
