With the theme 'Focussed on the Future' the national Divisions of General Practice Network Forum for 2003 will focus on future directions in general practice and primary care in Australia, including supporting and building capacity in general practice, partnerships between Divisions, general practices and State health systems, delivering and measuring quality in primary care and building relationships with the community.
There are a number of opportunities in concurrent sessions for Divisions and related organisations to present papers on their current and future work in key program areas and demonstrate major findings.
The aim of the paper presentations sessions will be to provide participants with new evidence and opportunities for discussion on how the future delivery of primary care will be influenced by the work of Divisions of General Practice in these areas.
The Divisions Showcase Poster Display will provide another opportunity to highlight the range of outstanding work and successful programs being undertaken by Divisions. The Steering Committee encourages all Divisions to consider submitting a poster to the Forum.
The Steering Committee invites abstracts from Divisions and other organisations wishing to present a paper in a concurrent session on Saturday, 22 November. Submissions are encouraged under the following headings:
- After Hours Primary Care
- Aged Care/Quality Use of Medicines
- Child and Youth Health/ Immunisation
- Chronic Disease/Information Management/ Nursing in General Practice

Papers will be selected for presentation by a panel of the Steering Committee and presented on Saturday, 22 November in concurrent sessions under the themes shown.
