Familiarisation Training

 Key Achievements

ADGP has been funded by the Department of Health and Ageing to develop the Familiarisation Training program. 

Development of a national, multi-media  Familiarisation Training resource and the distribution of 6700 copies to GPs, Divisions and Practice Staff across Australia

  • Delivery of 11 Train-the-Trainer workshops to Divisions of General Practice across State and Territory in partnership with the State Based Organisations
  • Evaluation data indicating the Familiarisation Training program is a useful and effective model for disseminating information to GPs and Divisions on the initiative
  • More than 3800 GPs have completed the Familiarisation Training through their Divisions of General Practice since July 2002 (November 2002 figures)
  • 117 out of 121 Divisions have provided Familiarisaton Training (November 2002 figures)
  • 73 out of 121 Divisions have provided a mental health skills training program approved by the Standards Collaboration (November 2002 figures)
