A healthy pregnancy is important. Below we have developed a printable document for patients that GPs and practice nurses can print off and offer to patients during a consultation. This document will provide patients with further information by providing a list of key resources. The Consumer Information will also direct patients to this website should they wish to view a more comprehensive list of resources.

Smoking Resources:
Quitnow: The National Tobacco Campaign. A national resource developed by the Australian Government providing fact sheets, quitting strategies and links to other resources for all people wanting to quit or help somebody else quit smoking.
Smoking & Pregnancy | Quit SA. A recommended resource for all smoking women who are considering pregnancy, pregnant or breastfeeding. A joint initiative of the Heart Foundation (SA Division)and The Cancer Council South Australia.
Smoking and Pregnancy | QLD Health. Brief information for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Developed by the QLD Government.
Smoking and Pregnancy | NSW Health. A fact sheet for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Developed by NSW Health.
Help for putting out that cigarette. Developed by the US Smoke-Free Families national program, this pregnancy specific self-help booklet includes benefits of quitting for you and your baby, ways to prepare to quit, how to handle "slips" and tips for after the baby is born.

Eating For Two | WA Department of Health. A comprehensive guide to healthy eating, including foods to avoid, weight gain, and other nutrition related health issues. Developed by the Western Australian Department of Health.
Food safety during pregnancy | NSW Food Authority. This easy to read booklet developed by the NSW food authority, provides pregnant women with healthy eating information including good natural food sources, advice and information around supplements, and foods to avoid due to the health risk associated with them.
