Divisions Network Information Management Support Program
The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing has engaged the Australian General Practice Network (AGPN) to manage the Divisions Network Information Management Support (DNIMS) program.
The DNIMS program aims to provide national coordination and support of information management for the Divisions Network, in accordance with the strategy being developed by the Department of Health and Ageing to support the National Quality and Performance System (NQPS).
A primary focus of this strategy is to support the implementation of the the national performance indicators (NPIs) developed for the Divisions Network and incorporated in the 2005-08 funding agreements. The emphasis of this strategy is on the integration and systemic use of information within the overall divisions’ strategic objectives.
Purpose
The Regional Health Information Management Officer (RHIMO) Network has been formed to assist and support Divisions to build their capacity in the area of information management, in particular in the quality of performance reporting against the NPIs for the NQPS.
The RHIMO Network will support and facilitate the implementation of the Information Management Maturity Framework in Divisions. This framework will serve as a resource for the Divisions Network.
