The Limestone Coast Division of General Practice is a non government, not for profit body, which was incorporated on 28th February 1994.
It is the aim of the Limestone Coast Division of General Practice to be well governed and managed by ensuring best practice, ethical standards and a commitment to be a transparent vehicle for health care delivery and support.
The Limestone Coast Division of General Practice remains committed in promoting the role of the general practitioner in the delivery of preventative and chronic health care, as well as working with allied health services work towards the needs of the community.
The Division will continue to work with universities to ensure we provide quality research and data to further develop programs, direct existing programs as well as contribute to the bigger picture of population health.
Major Achievements:
- 2004 SA Great Regional Award in the area of 'Health'
- 2003 National Immunisation Award for highest Immunisation coverage for under 7 year olds in SA.
- 2002 National Immunisation Award for highest Immunisation coverage for under 7 year olds in SA.
- 2001 National Immunisation Award for highest Immunisation coverage for under 7 year olds in SA.
- 2001 Australian Injury Prevention Network Award for best paper presentation at the Fifth National Conference on Injury Prevention for the Falls in the Elderly Project.
- 2000 International Safe Communities Special Achievement Award presented at the International Injury Prevention Conference in New Delhi for outstanding accomplishments from a local program incorporating the Wattle Range Road Safety Committee and the Road Trauma Awareness and Reduction Project.
- 1999 AMA Best Public Health Campaign Award SA branch for Road Trauma Awareness and Reduction Project.
- 1998 Australia Day Community Event Award Farm Safety Awareness Day.
