The culture of the Division encourages commitment to, and ownership of, the Division by its members, and this is  reflected in the 100% member participation in the Divisions activities.  The strong commitment to the Division by its  membership is reflected in the budget where, with the exception of Infrastructure, over 70% of expenditure is  committed to GP payments for work within the Divisions program areas.

Our Mission Statement:

"The Mission of the Riverland Division of Genreal Practice is to improve health outcomes in the Riverland community by supporting the role and professional development of General Practice."

The Division has developed extensive partnerships and collaboration with other health service providers and the community.  The Division is represented on the Rural Divisions Group of SA Divisions of General Practice Inc (SADI).  The Division also supports General Practitioner representation on the local hospital boards.

The Division has strong links with Flinders University through the continuing involvement with the Parallel Rural  Community Curriculum (PRCC).  This curriculum sees 6-8 medical students placed in the Riverland for their entire  third year, where they are attached to a practice with their own GP supervisor.  The Division also has strong links with the Royal Australian College of General  Practitioners (RACGP) and rural registrar program.
