Comparison of recognised Accreditation Models now available
22nd February 2005
By: ADGP
The Department of Health and Ageing is developing a National Quality and Performance System (NQPS) to address the recommendations of the Report of the review of the role of Divisions of General Practice (2003) and the Government's subsequent report. A key component of the NQPS is quality standards and accreditation of Divisions, SBOs and ADGP.
Accreditation
The Divisions network has choice in the set of standards used for their accreditation. Additionally, Divisions which are already accredited or undergoing accreditation will not be disadvantaged. The following accreditation models have been recognised by the Department for the Divisions network:
- Quality Improvement Council's (QIC) Health and community Services core standards (2004)
- The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Quality for the Divisions Network 1st Edition
- International Organisation for Standardisation's ISO9001:2000 standards.
A comparative table of recognised accreditation models is now available via the link below.
