Metropolitan Nurse Re-entry Scholarship Scheme
Have you ever trained as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse but haven't practised for several years? Do you wish to get a scholarship to enable you to regain your original nursing qualifications? There are 80 scholarships to be offered worth up to $6000 each to assist your return to the nursing workforce through Re-entry/Refresher Courses.
This scheme is a new initiative of the Australian Government administered by Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA). The Scheme is designed to remove some of the barriers to re-entering the nursing workforce faced by nurses living in Australian metropolitan areas. This will in turn increase the pool of nurses eligible to work in metropolitan non-acute sectors, for example community health and general practice.
This Re-entry Scheme is for both registered and enrolled nurses whose Australian nursing registration has lapsed or, who are unable to re-enter the nursing workforce as they have not practiced in recent years. Childcare with a registered carer will be considered for funding.
For further information about this program, contact the Royal College of Nursing on 1800 11 22 40, or visit their website: www.rcna.org.au.
