South Eastern Sydney Division of General Practice is a young, vibrant and ambitious organisation. This Division is one of four Divisions geographically located within the South East Health Service area. The Division was formally inaugurated in May 1993 and was incorporated under the Association Incorporation Act 1984 on 6 December 1993. The current membership consists of 187 Full Members and 27 Associate Members.
Many GPs are multi-lingual and are able to provide medical service in 20 different languages to a varied ethnic population.
The Division offers nine different programs with its own activities including service provision to GPs. Continuing Medical Education (CME) remains a priority for all members and therefore the Division aims to provide high quality, appropriate educational activities.
Division's core business is to support its members and thereby facilitate delivery of efficient, comprehensive, competent and relevant services to our local population. By building appropriate networks between General Practice, area hospitals, community health, other Divisions, SBOs and the NSW Department of Health, this Division has developed working partnerships with all relevant stakeholders.
