Programs and Projects
Summary of Programs & Projects:
- Youth Health - incorporating the schools programme along with GP education in teen related illness.
- Young Parents Early Intervention - teaches young parents parenting skill associated with the development, care, diet and stimulation of babies and young children.
- MAHS - taking podiatry and dietetic services into the GP practices for Diabetic patients.
- WSRGP - supporting practice staff, RNs & GP in their practice along with recruitment of new doctors, accreditation support, ongoing education and mentoring services. The programme also covers the support of Registrars and Students working in the area.
- Mental Health, "Bridging the Gap" - Provision of Psychological services to GP referred patients, along with education of GPs and Peer Support groups.
- Obesity in Childhood - Taking the programme into the schools, parent groups and the community to highlight the problem with children in the community. The programme also covers education with GPs on the problems of obesity.
- Knowledge Management - The ongoing education and support of all practices in IT and relevant areas.
- Immunisation - A continuing programme assisting practices to raise the level of childhood immunisation rates, aged population and travel medicine support.
- Koori Health - Continuing liaison with all Aboriginal Health Groups to provide cultural awareness of general practitioners, assistance with health issues, training of both health workers and GPs in aboriginal specific health areas.
- Caring for Children's Air - A programme of education of schools, GPs and other relevant groups on Asthma related issues to protect the air of our young people.
- Aged Care Initiatives - The development of a panel of GPs and other health workers to liaise with Aged Care facilities to improve the access by general practitioners.
