Rural Palliative Care Project
This 3 year program is one of a number of initiatives designed to achieve the goals of the National Palliative Care Strategy, and aims to support the development of collaborative models of rural Palliative Care. NSW
Local implementation includes raising community awareness about Palliative Care service availability, and promoting the service to health care professionals and the community at large. It is envisaged that the project would lead to greater co-ordination and utilisation of current Palliative Care Services.

Local Focus - Better Outcomes in Mental Health
NSW Health Department This program is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and is a part of the Australian Government's Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care Initiative (BOiMHC Initiative). The primary focus of the allied health component of the Initiative is to support GPs, who are registered under the Initiative with the Health Insurance Commission, in the provision of quality primary mental health care. It is anticipated that this will lead to improved health outcomes for consumers through access to allied health services.
One of the intentions of the BOiMHC Initiative is to provide access to mental health care for people who would otherwise miss out. Low-income earners are therefore an important target group (there is no fee for this service).

; This Division is dedicated to providing good quality Professional Development. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a visible activity which addresses an ongoing requirement of the local GP Members. The annual CPD calendar supports the various program areas undertaken by the Division and addresses those topics highlighted by an annual needs assessment. The CPD program emphasizes education but also provides a vehicle in which GPs can provide peer support for each other and increase networking opportunities both with other GPs and other allied health professional working in the Adelaide Hills region.

The NPCC is a Federally funded initiative to assist & train GP's and their practice's personnel to establish sustainable improvements in prevention and management of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and shorten patient waiting times. The learnt skills can then be applied more generally to any chosen aspect of practice activity/function - the methodology stays with the practice. Improvement is achieved by small progressive changes in the practices' management, clinical, and business systems.
