The Perth Central Coastal Division of General Practice is a company limited by guarantee bound by its own Articles of Association that trades as GP Coastal. The Division functions under a Corporate Governance management model, governed by a Board of Directors, which sets policy and guides the direction of the Division.
The daily functioning of the Division is managed by a CEO (Non GP) who works closely with the Chair and members of the Board as required. Many of Perth's major public institutions are located within the Divisions boundaries eg: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women, Royal Perth Rehabilitation Hospital, Graylands Hospital, University of WA, Edith Cowan University and local primary and secondary schools.
Also within the Division Boundaries are some of the major private enterprises including Hollywood Private Hospital, The Mount Hospital, St John of God Hospital, Bethesda Private Hospital, the Perth Royal Showgrounds, the WA Institute of Sport and many well known private primary and secondary schools.
