National General Practice Immunisation Program
The National General Practice Immunisation Program hosted by ADGP aims to improve the quality of vaccination services provided by general practice, with the overall goal of improving immunisation rates Australia wide.
The major focus of the immunisation program is participation of general practitioners in the General Practice Immunisation (GPII) program with the outcome of improving overall immunisation coverage rates to >90% in children fully immunised under seven years of age.
The GPII scheme is one of the Immunise Australia initiatives announced in 1997 as part of a seven-point plan to lift immunisation coverage rates in Australia and to reduce the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases.
