Objectives of the Workshop:

The Second International Workshop on Community Participation in Palliative Care will review:

1. Current approaches to home-based care delivery
2. Structure and management of home-based care programmes
3. Guidelines for ensuring quality assurance for palliative care delivery through home-based care programmes
4. The package of services delivered through home-based care services
5. Delivery of home-based care and the existing referral networks for it, and whether they are being used.
   through interactive sessions on:
1. Home care for patients with cancer
2. PLWHA in the community
3. Home care for children with chronic and incurable diseases
4. Care of the elderly in the community
5. Home care for patients with spinal injury
6. Patient with advanced renal disease at home
7. Community Psychiatry
8. Home care programs and local self government institutions
9. Nurse led home care programs

From August 2007, Palliative care groups in Kerala are also organizing satellite seminars on the above topics as part of the preparations for the workshop.
